A member of staff will make himself known with a sign, on which AMBA is written in large letters. Later pick-ups will take place approximately one hour after the flight has landed. Diving operations and diving safety * Diving operations and diving safety * On regular safari days, we dive 3 times a day. On the pick-up day there are no dives and one day before disembarkation the last dive takes place at eight o'clock in the morning. On long channel crossings, which do not take place often, we only dive 2 dives per day. One night dive per trip is included in the three-day dives. We are very strict about diving safety and expect our guests to have a sensible attitude to diving. This includes a certification that allows you to dive to 30 metres and, as we only dive Nitrox, a Nitrox certification. Nitrox fills are already included in the price! It may happen that the Nitrox system fails. In this case we do not offer any compensation and guests must dive with normal air. We especially ask divers who did their training many years ago to check again whether they have the necessary certifications. A minimum of 50 dives is required and we dive in two groups with a maximum of 10 guests. These groups are guided groups, but the divers themselves dive in a buddy system and must be able to dive safely on their own. Maldives guests with diving experience who wish to dive alone are welcome to ask the tour guide about this at the start of the tour. A reasonable set of diving equipment as we expect includes a long or short wetsuit with recommended 3-5 mm, a bonnet, mask, snorkel, buoyancy compensator, fins with booties, surface buoy with reel or 6 metre line and weights, whistle, diving torch, cutting tool, drift hook, Nitrox capable dive computer, compass and a regulator with alternative air supply. A diving suit, bonnet, snorkel, booties and a compass are recommended, but do not have to be worn or carried. The rest is mandatory and will be checked at the beginning. Gloves are not necessary and we ask you not to wear them. There are no medical or other reasons to wear gloves at a water temperature of 29 degrees and we ask for your understanding that we do not want to discuss this topic. Shakers, pointer sticks and other noisy items are not welcome and can be left at home. The travel agency or tour operator as well as the diving club or the leadership of the diving group have no right to declare the prescribed diving equipment as not necessary. Diving instructors or tour guides in the Maldives are also not allowed to lead dives themselves as they do not have a work permit. The laws in the Maldives are very strict and we will not take any risks! Any missing equipment that the guest feels they do not need because they have never used it on a safari must be rented or purchased for a fee before the first dive. We do not make any exceptions to the diving safety and rules and ask guests to take a sporting approach and simply accept them. Immersion cylinder Immersion cylinder YES, I would like a 15 litre tank. We have 15 litre tanks available for a total of 10 guests. Whoever orders first will be registered for a 15 litre tank and will receive one. As soon as we respond to your registration, we will let you know whether you will receive a 15 litre tank. As soon as the tank is booked here, it must also be paid for at 12 US dollars per diving day. NO, I don't want a 15 litre tank. Insurance * Insurance * Please note that diving insurance is mandatory for diving on the safari boat and will be checked upon embarkation. If you do not yet have one, you can take out one here. Boarding * Boarding * Once on board the AMBA, guests are greeted with a welcome drink and a short briefing, after which they can immediately move into their cabins. A few hours later, guests are invited to check in and then set up their diving equipment. Beforehand, many guests enjoy some relaxation time after an often long journey. The detailed boat safety briefing takes place in the evening after dinner. Between arrival and dinner, we serve freshly baked butter cake and home-made sandwiches for the small appetite. During check-in, you are welcome to order the rental equipment, which is as good as new and always well-maintained. Pre-orders are not necessary. The detailed diving safety briefing takes place the next morning and lasts approx. 30 minutes. All other briefings are short and last no longer than 5 minutes.
